FTP Setup

You can upload your web pages to your web hosting account using FTP software (which stands for File Transfer Protocol)

The easiest programs to use on a Mac are Fetch or Anarchie, and on a PC, the most common programs are WS_FTP and CuteFTP. Users of AOL, Compuserve, and Prodigy may have a built-in FTP interface which can be used instead.

You can download WS_FTP 32 bit version here (WIN95/98/NT/2000)
You can download WS_FTP 16 bit version here (WIN 3.x)

Once logged in, you will find yourself in the Internet Host root FTP site including Pub, Client Software, Employees, and World1.  All FTP access accounts are in World1 under your username.  Find your username double click and then you will see a public_html directory double click on that one and upload your web pages. By default the "default.asp" page will load as your home page if your home page is either "default.htm or .html" "index.htm or .html" "home.htm or .html" simply delete the "default.asp" and your home page will load in the order as listed above.  In other word our system is configured to load as your home page any and all of the page listed in this paragraph but will load then in the order that you see them in this paragraph.

It is important to remember to send HTML and CGI scripts (text) in ASCII mode, and all image files in Binary or Raw Data. Also, if you are using Word or another text-editor for writing HTML, be sure to save the file as text only, not as a .doc file. It's best to use Notepad (PC) to edit your configuration files or cgi scripts.
